Balut: Fermented Duck Eggs

I often wonder why people hate the Filipino delicacy, balut. Either they are grossed out by the hairy black chick inside or they just are not into exotic food. Exotic to other nations, in that case. What I know is that they are missing out on a lot: protein, experience, sipping the hot and tasty broth from the shell, etc.

Well, if it’s the chick they don’t want, why not try the penoy instead?
